Celebrating Latinx Heritage Month

My favorite part of being in the Latinx community is bringing our individual stories and flavors to the collective table, while easily finding common ground in our shared experiences. Our uniqueness is appreciated and celebrated, and we always learn something new about each other when we come together.

As a second-generation immigrant, my multiple identities helped me navigate between two worlds. Despite sometimes feeling caught in limbo, not fully 'American enough' or 'Mexican enough,' my appreciation for being dynamic was always stronger. Growing up in a Mexican-American family and having a community of Latino friends that I could relate to really shaped my experiences into positive ones.
